Opened 20 August 1906 to take the place of Collyhurst Wesleyan School, Eggington Street, Rochdale Road.The school closed for a year from 24 August 1931 until 22 August 1932 for the rebuilding of the school. Pupils went to Smedley Road School, or another school if nearer.From 1932 the school was organised as a Mixed and Infants Department.
