Father died in the Japanese War three months after Mrs C was born. Moved from Hong Kong to work in the UK as a nanny in the 1960s. Later began working in own restaurant with other jobs to top up income. Sold restaurant and opened a takeaway shop. Family reunites in UK in 1976, husband returns to Hong Kong. Mrs C’s mother comes to the UK to support her with her four children. Lived in Northern Ireland for 20 years with mother and children before moving back to England.
