Caroline Naude was born in Zimbabwe and was granted asylum in the UK after her father-in-law (a high-profile politician) was jailed and the whole family was persecuted. She has raised 7 children and was shocked with the cultural differences in child-rearing between Zimbabwe and the UK. From a large family, Caroline misses the sense of togetherness and helping each other that came from growing up with a very large extended family, with cousins being like brothers and sisters and aunts being like your mum.
