Eleanor Gilbert was born in Sierra Leone and came to Stockport as a toddler. She was initially fostered by a woman in Stockport while her mother worked but when her family returned to Africa her foster mother wouldn’t let her go. She was devastated when her foster mother died and became interested in healing and spirituality. Eleanor had a very happy childhood with positive people around her that nurtured her and helped her overcome adversity. She loves Stockport, with its history, market, fish & chips, and her husband Les. She’s looking forward to the growth of Stockport.
