Research photographs

When Musical Traditions Meet & Inspire' is an artistic development and research project that was produced by Emmanuela Yogolelo in 2021-2022, and funded by Arts Council England. The project was supported by amongst other partners the Institute of National Museums of the Congo and the National Museum of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The research was conducted in the Democratic Republic of Congo and consisted in a study of the Central African roots of Emmanuela's practice (singing/songwriting). These photographs document Emmanuela's research trip and include photographs of her research at the museums and a number of the interviewees she spoke to as part of the project.
