Born in 1953 in Aleppo, Syria. Moved to Beirut in the 1960s to continue education. In Beirut he was caught up in the Lebanon civil war but continued studies as a doctor. Married in 1981. Came to the UK in 1984 for two years to work as an orthopaedic doctor connected with an Oswestry hospital. Remained in the UK. Supported Armenia through North West Aid after 1988 earthquake.
