A District was assigned from St. Clement's, Ordsall and St. Matthew's Stretford, by Order in Council 15 May 1900, (London Gazette, 22 May 1900).
The church was closed on 3 March 1963, and the parish united with St. Clement's as St. Clement with St. Cyprian by Order in Council, 23 March 1967, (London Gazette, 31 March 1967).
In 1976 by Order in Council, 2 July, (London Gazette, 8 July) the united parish was joined by St. Bartholomew's, as St. Clement's, Ordsall.
