Rev Salomo Pinkasovitch was born in Russia, trained as a singer at Odessa, Vienna and Milan, and held posts in synagogues in Hungary, Berlin, South Africa and Manchester. He was at the New Synagogue, 1922 -1925 and the United Synagogue, 1932 -1940. He was also on the staff of the Jews' College, London, from 1947 to his death.
