Arthur Lewis (1885-1955?) and Jane Ann Stringer (1887-1952) were married in 1912 and had four children, Arthur born in 1913, Stanley in 1917, Harold in 1924 and Evelyn in 1929. Jane Ann Stringer came from a large family many of whom feature in the photographs. They were the children of Samuel Stringer and Ellen Ladbrook married in 1879. Elizabeth Ellen was born in 1881, Samuel 1884, Jane Ann 1887, Edith 1889, Albert 1891, Arthur 1894, Harold 1896, Florence 1898 and Lily in 1901. All were baptised at St. Andrew's Parish Church, Ancoats. Arthur Lewis, junior. worked at the Smithfield Market, then at Fairey Aviation, Manchester.
