Custodial history:
St. Clement's was opened for worship on 25 December 1793, but it was never consecrated.
It was closed and demolished in 1878. The proceeds from the sale of the site and building were invested in The St. Clement's Church Fund., regulated by the Charity Commissioners, 9 April, 1878, for building churches in the parish of Manchester. St. Clement's, Greenheys, St. Clements, Higher Openshaw and St. Clement's Lower Broughton, were built from the Fund.

The records found their way to St. Clement's, Greenheys, and were deposited in the Library as Diocesan Record Office in 1985 by Mrs. K. Poplawska, sister of a former churchwarden of St. Clement's Greenheys.
