Custodial history:
William Weatherby (born 1808, died 1844) married Ann Stanway. Their son was Ruben (born 1840, died 1911) who in 1866 married Mary McGrath (born 1842). Their sons were Samuel and Albert. Samuel married Nelly Shepherd and had a son Albert (Junior). Samuel died in 1950.
William Weatherby died in 1844 leaving his widow and a small family who were helped and supported by the grandparents. Ruben was apprentice to James Holland to learn the trade of bread baker and provision dealer. The family build up a bakery business with several shops on Rochdale Road. The family also owned property on Lathbury Street in Harpurhey. In the late sixties the regeneration of the area caused the sale of the business and what remained of the property on Lathbury Street.
