Handwritten copy of Grose (up to page 24). After this point Barritt sketches and describes other collections of armour and typical examples of period armour, including Mr Tomlinson's collection found in Castlefield around 1721 (page 25) and Mr Barritt's own collection (see second insert). Also includes 'Account of Some Antiques lately found in the River Ribble, &c', an offprint of the Literary and Philosophical Society of Manchester, 1801, a cloth sketch of the Ribble artifacts, and the frontispieces of 'Memorial of the Manchester Antiquary' by Thomas Gibbons and 'Old Time Marks: Papers of Thomas Barritt, Antiquary of Manchester' by Thomas Gibbons.
