Also collected by John Eglington Bailey (see Fuller collection) who was an authority on shorthand and founder of the Manchester Phonographic Union, the collection was presented to Manchester Libraries in 1899 by Councillor Henry Boddington. The collection contains many rare items particularly from the 17th and early 18th century
