The church was opened in 1885 and was a new home for a society previously based in New Lane Wesleyan,Winton. It belonged to Manchester 4th Wesleyan (Great Bridgewater Street) Circuit, re-named Eccles Wesleyan Circuit in 1888. In 1955 it transferred to Eccles Methodist Circuit, an amalgamation of Eccles circuits. The church closed in 1964 and the society joined with the Patricroft Ebenezer society.
