Custodial history:
The society was formed in 1835 as a break-away group from Westwood, the Wesleyan society in Irlams-o'-th'-Height. A purpose-built school-chapel was opened in 1847 and a separate church was built thirty years later. The Bolton Road society belonged to Salford United Methodist Free Church Circuit and, after 1907, the successor Salford United Methodist Circuit. It was transferred to Salford (Swinton, Pendlebury and Pendleton) Methodist Circuit in 1956. In 1964 the society united with the Westwood society to form The Height Methodist Church in the Bolton Road premises. The new society joined the new Swinton Methodist Circuit in the same year. The Bolton Road building was demolished in 1975, once a new church had been built in King Street.
