Manchester (North East) Methodist Circuit (which is not to be confused with the old Manchester North East United Methodist Circuit) was formed in 1966 by the amalgamation of the Newton Heath and Harpurhey circuits. The Failsworth ex-Wesleyan Methodist Chapel and the New Moston ex-Primitive Methodist Chapel were added to the new circuit. Although situated in the north east area of Manchester, these two churches had always previously belonged to Oldham circuits.
The circuit comprised the following churches: Culcheth MNC, Failsworth (Bethel) MNC, Failsworth (Holy Family), Failsworth Wesleyan Methodist, Harpurhey Wesleyan Methodist, Moston (St Mary's Road) MNC, Moston Methodist (ex-Streetfold UMFC), New Moston PM, Newton Heath (Oldham Road)Wesleyan Methodist, White Moss Methodist, Woodhouses Wesleyan Methodist
The North East Circuit lasted only four years after which time it was joined by the Middleton Circuit and re-named Manchester (North) and Middleton Methodist Circuit [for records of this circuit and associated churches see M80].
