The school was located at Forrest Street and a Branch School was opened at Gorton Street in May 1875. The School was evacuated to Marton, Blackpool 1 September 1939 but re-opened 1 April 1940. Some pupils and teachers remained in Blackpool. 26 August 1941 the Gorton Street and Forrest Street Schools merged forming three departments - Infant, Junior Mixed and Senior Mixed.The Senior and Junior Mixed Departments merged again 24 August 1942. From January 1962 became St Oswald's Church of England Primary School
