The church was opened in 1932 and was a member of Manchester (Radnor Street)Wesleyan Circuit. It continued through the circuit's successors, Manchester (Hulme and Whalley Range) Methodist Circuit and Manchester (Chorlton and Moss Side) Methodist Circuit, until, when the latter was dissolved, it moved to Manchester (Withington) Methodist Circuit in 1970. It remained there until it closed in 1997. The society continued to meet in the community centre.

These records were deposited by Rev. Colin Cooper, Superintendent Minister, Withington Circuit, in 1997 (accession number 1997/50) and by his successor Rev. Dan Patterson in 1999 and 2000 (accession numbers: 1999/89, 2000/13). The latest marriage register (ref: M291/11/1) was deposited in 1998 by the Registrar General (accession number: 1998/7).
