Custodial history:
This church originated as Tuley Street UMFC Mission. It united with Central Openshaw UMFC and, re-named Cobden Memorial School, it moved to a new site in Tipton Street (re-named Barmouth Street) in 1866. Initially part of Manchester (Grosvenor Street) United Free Methodist Church Circuit, it joined the newly-created Manchester 3rd UMFC (Openshaw) Circuit in 1869, then moved to Manchester (Openshaw) United Methodist Circuit in 1907, by which time it was known as Lower Openshaw UM, and finally to Manchester (Droylsden and Openshaw) Methodist Circuit in 1944. The church closed in the 1950s.
