Custodial history:
A Primitive Methodist chapel in King Street was registered for the solemnization of marriages in 1874. A new church, also in King Street, was opened in 1878. It belonged to the Manchester 2nd Primitive Methodist Circuit before moving to the newly-created Manchester 5th Primitive Methodist (Stretford) Circuit in 1886. It moved again in 1951 to Stretford and Urmston Methodist Circuit. The church closed in 1976 and its society joined with Moss Park to form Stretford (Sevenways) Methodist Church.
