The origins of this circuit lie in Manchester (Radnor Street) Wesleyan Circuit formed in 1867 out of Manchester (Oxford Road) Wesleyan Circuit. Radnor Street Circuit continued until 1934 when it was joined by churches from Manchester (Upper Moss Lane) ex-PM Circuit and Manchester (Oxford Road) ex-UM Circuit and re-named Manchester (Hulme and Whalley Range) Methodist Circuit. In 1948 the circuit was joined by Manchester (Great Western Street) ex-PM Circuit and re-named Manchester (Chorlton and Moss Side) Methodist Circuit. It was dissolved in September 1970 and its remaining churches were divided between Manchester (Withington) Methodist Circuit and the Manchester and Salford Methodist Mission
