Jewish Women's Welfare Committee

The Committee was formed under the auspices of the Council of Manchester and Salford Jews to co-ordinate the work done by voluntary workers for Jewish women and children. In addition the Committee also tried to recruit new social workers from the community as well as provide refresher courses for those already engaged in voluntary work. Mrs Barash was chairman of the committee. The following committees were affiliated to the Welfare Committee:
The Ladies Visiting Association
The Ladies Distress Society
The Society for the Protection of Girls and Women
The Jewish Refugees Committee
The Jewish Hospital Almoner and representatives of the Welfare Committee
