Draft brief in the Exchequer case of Richard Townley v Thomas Holden.

Case for the plaintiff in case of Richard Townley v Thomas Holden, in which Townley claims Holden, as deputy steward of the manor of Colne in 1678, entered in the court rolls a fictitious mortgage of a messuage and land (5a.) in Colne, causing Townley to pay £60 to redeem it.

Case for the defendant in an action 'for scandalous words' brought by Thomas Holden against William Wall, gent., relating to the acquittal of Holden by the judge over the question of whether he forged the mortgage referred to in 2-3 above.
