Crossley Gaddum were two homes built on the Belmont Estate in 1923 to provide homes for orphaned and destitute children, some of which had been transferred from four of the six Orphan Homes at George Street, Cheetham Hill. By 1958 when Bethesda moved to the estate, it took over the accommodation at Crossley Gaddum. By 1979 Bethesda was no longer in need of accommodation and Gaddum was turned into a 'Home for disturbed Children'. The buildings were closed down as a residential home in 1981 and converted into an extended educational unit in 1982. This provided post-16 education for children at Bethesda until 1993 when the service was transferred to Offerton and Bridge College was established. In 1999 Inca moved into the building as an administrative unit whilst the Inca assessment centre remained in Greenways.
