Prison Gate Mission, 1887-1918.
Refuge workers waited at the Strangeways jail to offer inmates a simple breakfast in a mission room opposite the jail. Here advice was given and note taken of the younger ones, with a view to providing further assistance. By 1915 it was handed over to Manchester City Mission.
