Total copies: 1
This replaced 'The Christian Worker' as the Refuge's monthly magazine in 1895. It was reduced to being issued quarterly from the beginning of the First World War for economic reasons. By 1928 the magazine was issued once a year at Christmas. The magazine was designed, similarly to the 'Christian Worker', to promote the workings of the Charity and encourage donations and services from the Manchester and Salford community. All the books are of a similar style and include a list of trustees and members of the Committee for each month. The magazines give details of the main activities in each of the Homes and Refuge branches. It also lists contributions during the month and includes donation forms for subsequent donors. There is also encouragement for interested parties to 'sponsor a child' and be responsible for their support, whilst they are present in a Home or have been emigrated to Canada. Special events such as annual meetings, concerts and anniversary activities are also mentioned, as are the announcements of children or Refuge workers' deaths.
