In 1955 the Moral Welfare Council formed a sub-committee to register as an Adoption Society this process began in 1957. A nationwide questionnaire was carried out in 1961 of the policies and procedures of the Adoption Societies in other Diocese. Registration was approved by Salford local authority in 1965. Subsequently became limited company 'The Manchester Adoption Society' in 1982.
