Accreditation was a broad and detailed operation that had a close relationship with Technology.
The Accreditation team were responsible for ensuring the correct access requirements for those taking part, working on and visiting the Games were in place.
Accreditation relied upon the development of an effective and multi-functional database. The operational process was dependent on the efficiency of the computer applications provided to support it.
Overall 40,000 people were accredited into 39 categories, 5,717 athletes and team officials were accredited over a period of 12 days.
