Procurement and Logistics

The Procurement and Logistics team was responsible for locating, providing and tracking equipment and materials needed to support the Games. The aim was to ensure that they were delivered in a timely manner, to the specifications requested and in the most efficient and cost effective manner.

The department was split up into a core Logistics team, a core Procurement team and a core Asset Management team. Asset management would identify what was needed and in what quantity, Procurement would locate the specific items requested and Logistics would then liase with the Functional area and suppliers to deliver the assets tot he required venue.

At the end of the Games Procurement and Logistics were responsible for the Remains of the Games asset recovery function, by disposing of items from venues to their pre-determined end location.
