Starts with printed copy of the will of Humph. Chetham, esq., 16 Dec. 1651; printed copy of the Charter of King Charles II, 10 Nov. 1665, for making the trustees under Mr. Chetham's will a body-corporate. Register of Poor Boys sent from Turton to Chetham's Hospital, Manchester, 1835-1859.
Copy of appointment of new trustees of property called Goosecote Hill, Turton, left by Humph. Chetham for the poor of Turton, 12 Aug. 1823; names of trustees, 1748-1823;
Copy of trust deed of a school at Eagley Bridge, 1 May 1794; names of trustees, 1794, 1853; copy letter from James Chadwick and Bro. of Eagley Mills to George Slater, 2 Nov. 1853, agreeing to have the tenancy of the school and maintain it as a school. Note by Rev. R. Harries Jones, curate of Walmsley, that the foregoing was written by Edward Wilkinson of Warrington, first schoolmaster in 1847 of Walmsley National School, who died in 1856.
