Before World War I. There used to be a regular commercial service of outings in the summer operating between Mossley and Marple. Leonard Clayton is the man in the middle with a Trilby and bow tie with his hand on his mother-in-laws shoulder. His mother-in-law was called Grandma Booth (wearing a black hat with a white spray). The lady at the back between the cap and hat is Esther Ann Booth (later Chambers), while Joseph Chambers (her husband) is seated at the back.
