Alice Plant. Her mother, Mrs Kate Plant was intending to take care of Gertrude May Williams when her mother died, but she started a family of her own. Alice trained as a nurse at Guys Hospital, and later became superintendant of district nurses at Leighton Buzzard. During World War I she joined the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry and travelled abroad.
