Standing on the left is Connie, who had bright red hair (Bertie had red hair too) and Eveline is on the right. Unknown girl is seated. Their father was a keen amateur back-yard gardener. He had a `fern case' which was fitted onto the window-sill. It can be seen behind them here. He kept it and installed it in Miss Hart's parents' house in Chorlton, when he came to live with them.
