View taken at the mouth of Broadway, as it leaves Oldham Rd, for Rochdale. The Dairy Buildings were built by Failsworth Coop. Scty. about 1930. They became the birthplace, under the direction of A.G. Peddie, of the large United Dairies (Coop) complex. Inside the yard can be clearly seen the loading and unloading platforms. I worked here as a roundsman from 1935 to 1950. The place was sold to Unigate in the 60s when U.C.D. built a larger dairy at Hyde in Cheshire.
