The 'Robin Hood'on the corner of Droylesden Rd and Albert St. (now Aurill St). Here my grandfather Augustine Swallow staked a 'claim'. It was his permanent abode when not at home. It was a Rothwells Brewery House. Before this pub.In the month of May the 'Morris Dancers' and Clog Dancers performed. Each year there was also a Maypole and its troupe of dancers. The photo is taken from the mouth of Daisy Bank, the Street in which I was born. On the opposite side of Albert St., facing the gable-end of the pub was the corner shop, of Bailey's the clog repairer.
