Has had a letter from Mr. Lombe, in which he wishes Combe to act as Comptroller General of a Fund of £500 for the advancement of the Association. Smiles is to report progress fortnightly and money will be advanced at monthly installments. Efforts should be concentrated on overthrowing the Church Bill for Manchester and Salford, by a local monster petition.
