Papers regarding the legal case made against the Refuge over their purchase and development of properties on Great Ducie Street and the consequent damage to a Mr Edward Lees property on the street. Includes extracts of minutes from Committee meetings regarding the case, letters from the Refuge's Solicitors and letters from Leonard Shaw and Gilbert Kirlew to Lees. Also contains a 'Statement of Claim', delivered in Jun 1890 and a copy of a 'Particular of Damages' for £700 in November.
