Luminje Mustafa lives in Manchester with her family. She is an organ donation specialist nurse and has previously worked as a critical care nurse in Manchester. She was born in the capital city of Kosovo and came to Manchester in 1999 when she was nine years old. Luminje’s family fled to villages in the hills and were refugees in a camp in Macedonia before their evacuation to the UK. She has vivid memories of terrifying experiences.
Luminje considers herself to be very lucky to have survived the war although she knows that her experiences have had a big impact on her. She enjoys exploration and travel and enjoys visiting family in Kosovo, but she loves Manchester which she now considers to be home.
In this interview Lumnije Mustafa talks about her family and her war experience as a child, moving from village to village in Kosovo, her evacuation to Manchester and her life in England.
