Subject: This anthology of essay on black women in antiquity is primarily interested in the queens and goddesses of Ethiopia and Egypt because they feature prominently in European mythology and in African reality. Part 1 looks specifically at Ethiopian and Egyptian queens and goddesses. Part 2 focuses on black women in ancient art, followed by a look at conquerors and courtesans in Part 3. The collection concludes with a section of Special Essays that were not available in the first edition of this book.
