Subject: This is a collection of one play (Voices of the living and dead) and two poems (Youths of hope and Five nights of bleeding) by West Indian artist Linton Kwesi Johnson. He was born in 1952 in Clarendon, Jamaica. He emigrated to Britain in 1963 ? to join his parents who were part of the large force of migrant workers leaving the Caribbean in the 1960s. His creative instincts have been sharpened by the experiences of the first generation of West Indian youth to be educated in Britain.
