The project aim was to engage a wide range of participants both as oral history interviewees but also as volunteers who would obtain new skills and undertake parts of the project. It was envisioned through workshops and training sessions that participants would develop skills in research, journalism and storytelling as well as creative media and digital skills. An example of how these volunteers were to be included in the project can be seen in the interview with Nana-Kofi Kufuor. Here a project volunteer researched and interviewed Nana-Kofi Kufuor. Due to the impact of Covid-19 on the project and the various restrictions throughout 2020 and 2021 the project delivery team was reduced to just four people. As a part of the project, it was decided to include interviews with the four core project team members as part of the project.
