Florence Coke or ‘Mama Flo’ is of Jamaican heritage. She sees herself as a strong black woman living in Stockport, she enjoys the community around her. She is one of twelve children, all brought up ‘well- disciplined’. She has lived in multiple places in England. Her business (Mama Flos Jamaican takeaway/restaurant) originated in Gorton. Florence started off living with her sister in Levenshulme, eventually she moved to Stockport after her business in Gorton was broken into.
