The photographs were lent for copy by Burnley Environmental Health Department, Town Hall, Padiham. They were taken by the Burnley County Borough Health Department. They cover slum clearance areas which were demolished in the 1930s. A register giving dates when individual houses were demolished is kept at the Health Department. The photograph were possibly taken around Ministry of Health Inquiries.
