Mary Turner 1921-1989 wasa local historian and researcher. As well investigating popular local history, her primary place of interest was Collyhurst.Mary held classes at the Workers Educational Association (WEA) and much of her research was consulted through material held at the Local History Department in Manchester Central Library. Most of the contents in this collection consists of copies of miscellaneous broadsides, photographs and newspaper cuttings.There are various hand written and typed correspondence and notes relating to the classes at WEA.
