A memorial lecture was due to take place in May 2020 to celebrate the life of Burjor. It was going to be held at Manchester Metropolitan University. The planned speakers were Professor Lord Bhikhu Parekh and Doctor George Joseph. The topics were based on multiculturalism and a little on Burjor's life. Due to the covid pandemic and the UKs first lockdown restrictions the lecture was postponed.
The lecture eventually took place on the 4 May 2022 at the Business School, Manchester Metropolitan University. The key note speaker was Navtej Purewal, School of Oriental and Asian Studies, University of London who spoke on (See GB3228.91/11/2 for lecture). The remainder of the evening was given over to friends and colleagues of Burjor who shared their memories of him. Jo Robson from the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah RACE Centre and Education Trust also presented giving an overview of the Centre's work and the Burjor Avari archive collection. The event was both an online (via Teams) and in person event. Names and positions of those who organised the event can be found on GB3228.91/11/1. The order of the reminisences in the catalogue do not represent the order they spoke on the night.
