Salford Hospital Management Committee set up in 1948 on the establishment of National Health Service. This was succeeded by Salford Area Health Authority (Teaching) in 1974, which in turn was succeeded by Salford District Health Authority (Teaching). This became Salford Health Authority and then in 1994 this was suceeded by Salford and Trafford Health Authority.
