The Rail Users Consultative Committee for North West England was one of eight created by the Railways Act of 1993. Its purpose was to protect the interests of users of services and facilities provided on Britain's railway network. The Transport Act 2000 changed their name to the Rail Passengers Committee and is sponsored by the Strategic Rail Authority.
