These papers relate to Canon Dobb's history of the Manchester Diocese - 'Like a Mighty Tortoise' written while he was vicar of Christ Church, Harwood. Included are draft notes , correspondence and ink sketches 1970s; Also included are papers relating to two other histories - 'The Vanishing Parish, Bircle (Published in 1967) and '1846 Before and After-A Historical Guide to the Ancient Parish of Bury (published 1970) and written while he was the vicar of Bircle.
There are also many photographs of churches taken by Derek Ralphs
