Custodial history:
In 1862 the incumbent of Smallbridge erected a School on land given by Mr. J.S. Entwistle, and held services there. Mr. Entwistle gave land for the building of a church, and on 29 April 1865 the cornerstone of All Saints was laid. It was consecrated on 22 November 1866, and a District was assigned to it from St. John, Smallbridge, and St. James, Wardleworth, by Order in Council 26 February 1867, (London Gazette, 1 March 1867).
