The Mersey Basin Campaign and Trust was a government-sponsored initiative dedicated to promoting regeneration, investment, and development of the region along the River Mersey through partnerships between local and national government, voluntary groups and private organisations. The Voluntary Sector Network of the campaign worked with voluntary groups in order to realise the campaign's aims through: promoting co-operation; help to access grants and funding; the production of education materials for schools and community groups; and the administration of its own grant schemes. The Mersey Basin Campaign was based in Manchester, but operated throughout: Lancashire; Merseyside; Manchester; and Cheshire.
